Tenth House

Throne ॐ गुरवे नमः
Dear Jyoti, Namaste.

The tenth house is the Indra Bhava and therefore is the strongest house in the entire chart followed by the Prajapati bhava (Lagna). So when a Graha is placed here it can completely eclipse all the other houses. It is the Simhasana (royal/lions throne) of the chart.

Bhāva Chakra

हरे राम कृष्ण
Dear Somnath, Namaskar.
What you say is not the case.
The Bhāva Chakra is used in this tradition, but its usage is clearly differentiated from the use of the normal Rāśi or Bhava chakra. Note the difference in wording between Bhava (short a) and Bhāva (long ā). The former refers to the Rāśis and the latter to the houses.

Makara Sankranti

हरे राम कृष्ण
Dear Jitu, Namaskar.
In truth every Sankranti has significance, as does every New and Full Moon, where the significance is derived from the Sun sign wherein the event occurs.
Specifically Makara Sankranti (Sun entering Capricorn) marks the beginning of the Deva-Ayana. In the tropical zodiac it implies increasingly more sunlight on the north pole, whilst in the Sidereal zodiac it is a spiritual light instead where the Deva are blessing. Jyotishas regard this as special significance during this time as God distributes the ability of divine sight (natural tenth house of vision/sight is Makara) to the Jyotishas during this time.

Varnada Lagna (your karma yoga)

हरे राम कृष्ण
Dear K. Lakshman, Namaskar.
Heres answering your query on the topic of Varṇada Lagna.

Varṇa means color, caste or the single syllable of a word or mantra. As a sound syllable it refers to the origin of our creation, namely sound itself of which the first sound was aum. Sound manifests in the Akaśa or ether element, followed by the creation of the Vāyu or air element, which again is followed by the Agni or fire element. At this stage light and therefore also color emanated. This then resulted in the creation of Jala or water which gave sustenance and finally Prthvi or earth which brought about the solid surfaces and therefore also food.
