Visti Larsen, Jyotishi
I was born in 1981, and have spent most of my professional life studying and practicing Vedic Astrology. Despite my birth and early-upbringing in Mombasa, Kenya, I was exposed to Vedic beliefs of Gods and Goddesses that came fully to fore in my early teens in Denmark. My family and I practice a fully vegetarian lifestyle, meditate daily and follow the spiritual tradition of Śrī Śarada Matha, Calcutta, India.
My Jyotiṣa teacher is Pt. Sanjay Rath, whom I owe my knowledge to since 2001. Through my Guruji I am a part of the Vedic Tradition of Śrī Achyutānanda Dasa.
I’ve been a professional Jyotishi since 2004, thanks to the instigation of the Khanna family in late 2003. I practice horoscope consultations daily, besides teaching Astrology courses both in my school Rāma Academy and my teacher’s school, Devaguru Bṛhaspati Centre.
Learn Vedic Astrology
At Rāma Academy we’ve created several courses and webinars on Traditional Vedic Astrology. We presently have 100+ hours of recordings spanning various subjects of Jyotish. Check out our free-course, Ātmakāraka, start with the basic Sun-Sign or Āditya bundles, or if you are more seasoned, consider the Rare Jyotiṣa Tools or the specialized workshops on relocation, Rājabhañga, Fortune, and more. The Health and Illness Bundle are for those especially focussed on Medical Astrology.
My Guruji, Pt. Sanjay Rath, has created and taught three high-level Traditional Jyotiṣa programs through Devaguru Bṛhaspati Center, and continues to create great astrologers all-over the world. The popular courses of
* Parāśara Jyotish Course (PJC)
* Mantra Śastra Program (MSP)
* Jaimini Sūtra Program (JSP)
all find their home at DBC.

Some people feel that this word Horā is of Greek origin, however whoever came first in this process of giving names and terminology is besides the point in this matter, as the word clearly has a root in the Sanskrit language. The Greeks have used this word to define the 24 hours of a day and hence there are 24 Horā in a day. The starting time of these Horā is traditionally accepted in India as teh start of the day itself or Sunrise. This has changed in western culture, but not without astrological relevance.
